Sonic Olympics Approaching; Any Interest?
« on: May 31, 2007, 05:18:23 pm »
The Olympics are coming, and RPG and I were looking to recruit three more people for a team. mike89's retired, and we can't afford to get Aitamen a plane ticket to a place with an Internet connection. So we need to sift through the dregs of TSC less-famous members on TSC for teammates.

After the fiasco two years ago, a team under TSC's name wouldn't be welcomed well. So we're looking to get the team registered under TUSC. Unfortunately, we're 79 members short of qualifying, so we need anyone reading this to submit at least one stat on TUSC regardless of their interest in the Olympics. Those who want to participate should say so here as well as submit one stat. Or, if your nick is stanski, you can say yes by submitting one record in TUSC's Sonic 2 Prototypes bracket, to kill RPG's 100%.

Hope to get some help. :P
<RPGnutter> Well I think your reasoning was dumb, so you get sassed

why are we still bothering with this?

Did Rolken even get his free t-shirt?

I'm sorry, but no t-shirt, no participation. It's that simple

I would half consider this if my only decent game wasn't SA2 (which is already done by many other members better than me. Probably not going to happen.

<_<

Anyhow, will people not realize TSC is TUSC?

I don't think even TSS is that stupid.

EDIT: and if this requires going anywhere or doing weird stuff not Sonic related then I am out.

I could give this a shot. Not sure how it all works though, to be honest. I'm guessing the team of five selects a member to go compete in a designated event.

Also, looking at this years events, it sure does seem like stanski would pretty much dominate half of it. I'm not quite certain how much I can contribute... I can do Sonic 1 ring attacks pretty well and a full Launch Base Zone TA. Can't gauge what else I can do on that list because I haven't tried it. :[ I guess I should work on some of those games a bit.

Anyhow, will people not realize TSC is TUSC?

I don't think even TSS is that stupid.

It's not about tricking people, it's about TSC's admins declaring that they want nothing more to do with the Sonic Olympics. That's why RPG and I are trying to get in under our subsite. We havne't gotten a single new competitor on TUSC since our initial request, for shame on you all. If we have to make 79 fake accounts to meet the site size requirements... well, Rolk would probably ban us, so we wouldn't do it. But we'd hold a grudge against every last one of you.

Making a team is gonna be tough. Obviously RPG and I want in, else we wouldn't have looked into it in the first place. But the better 2D players on the site aren't showing much interest. Yes, I'm aware SkyLights offered, and we'd be glad to have him on the team... I just wanna see him fill out his Sonic 1/2/3&K bracket more, as his Rush skills aren't going to be enough to get by in a Genesis competition (no offense, I swear, but you know it's true). And Conker, assuming you are who I think you are, you've only done 3D games, so again, make with filling your Sonic 1/2/3&K bracket. I'm reaching out to people I'd've never thought I would consider: the three or four people who have been following my hack in the TUSC forums have been asked to show me their best full-game run, because I want to see their 2D skills.

Also RPG, MK, and I need to decide which directions to slice the T-shirt in to give us our third.
* Thorn expects RPG to follow with a comment along the lines of "Hell no, I get that shirt."
